On the 25th of April 2018 at the Bouchout Castle Meise, 30 selected African Diaspora Entrepreneurs took part in the African Diaspora Agro Food Forum. This event was organized by The Food Bridge vzw in partnership with the BigPicnic Project, Africe Europe Faith and Justice Network, Paepard and the Meise Botanic Garden Belgium.

The participants had insightful discussions about the potentials and challenges for African Entrepreneurs in the Agro Food sector.  The themes discussed in the panels were African Diaspora Food Market, African Diaspora Investment in the agro food sector and scientific innovations for the agro food sector. Our partners Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs, organized the grand finale of the 2018 African Diaspora Projects Initiative - Sustech4Africa competition. We thank all the African Diasporans who participated in this year's call for projects, bootcamp and training. 

We are happy to announce the winners-

Project of the year is from Zilipa Nyirabyago - a circular economy based social project in Rwanda, supporting rural farmers to grow mushrooms on coffee waste and using the waste from mushrooms as compost for farming.

Oceane Vildeuil of LUM ARTEMISSA is second, with a project supporting local communities in RDC to grow Artemissa for consumption against malaria. She also won the public vote.

Orban de Xivry and his team from Solarly have the third project chosen. Their project supplying green energy to rural communities in Cameroun impressed the judges.
